Supplies
Fabric
- I generally buy these by the yard from Joann, but I have also had tremendous luck with thousandsofbolts.com.
- The fabric is amazing quality and this place has just what I need, I typically don’t spend over $5 per yard unless it’s a specialty fabric.
Ornament ribbon
- I primarily buy this from Joann during black Friday sales or from Papermart—I had NO idea of the wonderful selection I would find from Papermart
Bow & hanger ribbon
- For basic ribbon I would recommend Papermart.
- For specialty ribbon I would recommend craft stores and even dollar stores!
Charms
- I have had great success finding charms for everything I need on Etsy
Straight pins
- I generally buy these online from Amazon, or I buy them in bulk from a wholesaler
Foam shapes
- These can be purchased at any craft store—I generally buy my craft supplies from Michaels because it’s minutes from my house.
- if you want to buy in bulk I recommend purchasing directly from Smoothfoam.
Sequins
- These can be bought from any craft store—but don’t overlook dollar stores; I have found an amazing selection there!
Tools— I would recommend purchasing these sorts of products at any bulk store; you may be able to find them cheaper than if you purchased them at your craft store.
- Needle nose pliers
- A rotary cutter and mat
- A tape measure (or ruler)
- Thimbles
- Jump rings–to help hold the charms
- Clear containers to store different kinds of pins/charms
** I HIGHLY recommend taking advantage of things like Black Friday sales
**by far the biggest surprise is how many things I can buy from Papermart. I have been able to find everything from the standard ribbon that I use for the bows and hangers, to sequins and decorative pins, to beautiful bags for when I give my ornaments as gifts—I am truly astounded by their selection and my only regret is that I didn’t find them sooner!
The supplies and tools that I use to create many of my products contain materials, pins, and other sharp objects which could be hazardous to children and animals–please use caution!
